About the opportunity:
Jacobs Engineering is the Nuclear Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield Ltd under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). PPP is an exciting model to work in with Four world class organisations who have come together as one team, to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

The programme arrangement is set to deliver ~£7bn worth of major projects creating a lasting legacy through the long-term partnerships.

As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, we are currently looking for an Area Engineering Manager to join the team in Birchwood, Warrington.

The selected candidate will undertake Area Engineering Management duties on projects as instructed by the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) within the SWMRF Project

Responsibilities will include:
Leading a team of multi-discipline engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery projects, including oversight of supply chain delivery.

Undertake elements of the Principal Designer role as instructed by the PEM.

Input to engineering delivery strategies.

Scope definition and specification.

Identification and overseeing of risks.

Definition and co-ordination of product verification activities.

Delivery of design solutions in line with legal and site licence requirements.

Stakeholder engagement.

Design resource program.

CDM – Pre-construction Information, Health & Safety File, Design Risk Assessment.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Working in roles where knowledge of engineering was a key attribute. In addition, will have been working within a regulated and quality assured system (preferably nuclear) in roles where professional engineering judgement is the key attribute.

Familiarity with CDM regulations and duties.

Experience of nuclear projects.

Experience of project delivery on the Sellafield site.

Monitored or Classified worker .

Higher Education Qualification in Engineering, preferred MEng.

Chartered Engineer.
